SWL team wins Great Glen Challenge again!
Outdoor enthusiasts from Scottish Woodlands Ltd have won a major charity challenge for a second consecutive year.
The team from Perth Sandpiper office won the multi-sport RSABI Great Glen Challenge - which includes kayaking, mountain biking, running and walking - repeating their 2023 success.
The successful quartet was made up of:
- Fraser Wight, Forest Manager: 17km run
- Joe Birch, Assistant Harvesting Manager: 49km mountain bike ride
- Cameron Woodall, Assistant Forest Manager: 6km kayak
- David King, Assistant Forest Manager: 18km walk
Becky Millar, Assistant Forest Manager, who acted as the team’s support driver and assisted with logistics and equipment, said: "There were definitely some nerves on the starting lines, but lots of big smiles on the finishing lines!"
"The day went really well, with lovely weather. Everyone was really nice and chatty, although we were all competing against each other. The guys did really well but were exhausted by the end of the day."
Ian Robinson, Managing Director of Scottish Woodlands Ltd, said: "To win the Great Glen Challenge once was a fantastic achievement, but to do it twice in a row is amazing. I'm sure the team will want to be back next year for the potential hat-trick - and to continue supporting this hugely worthwhile cause."
The event raises funds for the RSABI (founded as the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution), which provides practical, emotional, and financial support to individuals currently or previously involved in the Scottish agricultural industry, including those in forestry.
Anyone wanting to support this challenge can make a donations through the Scottish Woodlands Team's fundraising page.
