SWL Director describes love of outdoors - and birch trees
Charles Bushby describes his love of the outdoors - and birch trees - in the latest video in Scottish Woodlands' Meet The Team series.
The Director for Central region, who covers a vast area stretching from Fife and Angus in the east to Mull and the Mull of Kintyre in the west, joined the company after a career in the Army.
He says: "I've always liked outdoor and active jobs so to get a job out in the country with plenty of activity was right up my street."
Explaining why he loves birch trees, he says: "I have planted a lot of them, I have some in my own garden, I like the change in colour in the autumn and I like the fact that they go with Scots Pine, my other favourite.....and the birch just epitomises native woodland in Scotland."
Charles planted birch and Scots pine, alongside various other species, in his favourite wood, Cambusurich, near Loch Tay to the east of Killin in Perthshire.
